Champions for Congo partners with Nundu Deaconess Hospital (NDH)
and the Free Methodist Church in the Democratic Republic of Congo
as it provides holistic, compassionate healthcare in Eastern Congo in the name of Jesus.
Impact Stories
”A newborn’s life was saved at Nundu Hospital when a mother arrived in distress after traveling miles by foot. Trained midwives acted quickly, and today both mother and child are thriving. Without this care, neither would have survived.” (Hospital Update, 2024)
“A survivor of violence found healing through Nundu’s trauma informed counseling and compassionate medical care. She shared that for the first time in years, she feels peace and believes she can rebuild her life.” (Hospital Update, 2024)
“Through Jali Afya, a widow received vegetable seeds and small-business training. She now provides balanced meals for her children and earns income to send them to school. She says, ‘I once thought my children would starve. Now, we have hope and a future.’” (Community Story, 2023)
“Thanks to the nursing school, a young student from South Kivu has become a skilled midwife serving in her home village. She now delivers babies safely in communities where maternal deaths were once common.” (Education Story, 2024)
Our community is impacted as the lives of premature infants are saved, trauma victims are counseled, a means for gaining a livelihood is realized, students are trained in caring for the sick.
